Chef Matthew Raiford
Having over 20 years of formal experience in the Food Hospitality and Farming Industry, I have worked and traveled extensively; taught culinary arts in community and technical colleges in Georgia, Texas and Maryland.
I am a educator joyfully and willingly able to share the Legacy Knowledge that has been passed on to me about the delights of food, wine and farming.
Chef Matthew specializes in serving up adventures in taste through hands-on culinary & agriculture education & engaging events.
Chef Matthew owns Gillard Farms, a family-run organic farm, established in 1874. The farm is a member of Georgia Organics Inc, Coastal Organic Growers & Georgia Grown.
Matthew’s culinary experience is both extensive and impressive: executive chef of Haute Catering in Washington, DC at the U.S. House of Representatives, teacher of culinary arts at several colleges and restaurateur. Also he's developed recipes, menus, and created meals for the National Defense University, National Archives, Pentagon Conference Center and Library, and the Canadian Embassy. Recently Matthew was recognized as a semi finalist for best chef in the Southeast by The James Beard Foundation.
